Step In The Name of Love..And For Zimbabwe

Are you in the Valentine’s Day spirit and looking for love? Why not look for love AND spread love or “seeds of love” for charity!

Seeds for Africa is hosting the event “Spread The Seed” Valentine Charity Date Auction on Monday, February 13 at The Manhattan Penthouse (Union Square, NYC.) From 7-10PM, your ticket includes an open bar, raffles and singles ready to mingle (or be auctioned off for charity!) Seeds of Africa helps raise money to educate and empower children by giving them modern technology and resources to thrive in an impoverished country.

If you’re looking to find love, purchase your ticket here. Money donated from the event will be contributed towards creating libraries and providing modern technology and resources in Zimbabwe and other African countries.

Visit Seeds of Africa to find out how you can be involved – it is as simple as donating $1 for a brick that will build a school in Zimbabwe!

NYC Singles Mingle For A Good Cause

Last night, many young, single, professionals went straight from the office to the Time Hotel Inc. Lounge in Time Square, in order to meet a potential mate, (or simply a date)!

The event, First Fixler Mixer  – Flirting For A Good Cause, was thought up by Ariel Fixler, well known to many as a successful NYC matchmaker. She recently started her own matchmaking service, Sweet Fix Up, which is intended to match up individuals for hopeful life partners, by finding common interests in non-pressuring environments.

The benefit of last night’s event? Money raised by attending the event is being given to Autism Speaks. If you’re going to spend money on something you’d already be doing on a week night, why not do it for a good cause?

This is the first of many upcoming mixers to come. Check out Sweet Fix Up to learn more about the matchmaker, upcoming events and dating tips!

All in all, although my experience last night was unsuccessful, I am hopeful in finding my future mate (and being philanthropic at the same time)!
