The National Bone Marrow Donor Program Wants You To Be The Match

Meet Zoe. There’s 68,999 people with her name, has been alive for 8,238 days and averages about 28 Facebook Posts each month.

My Social Strand, the latest and greatest in social media technology, was created by non-profit Be The Match. It was created to consolidate a Facebook user’s data in efforts to organically take them to registration for the National Bone Marrow Donation database.

Rather than be too overt with information surrounding bone marrow transplants/illness, Be The Match wanted to take a more savvy approach by drawing in a young demographic active in the Facebook/social media landscape. By connecting users with their own stats, it will hopefully give people a simple reason to help others.
