Aside from the gorgeous weather, you can see how bright and plentiful the green leaves are growing on all of the trees surrounding the pond. Hopefully this is a sign for a fruitful summer!

Cool Off With Delicious, Low Calorie Cocktails!

For a delicious, easy treat, start with the Strawberry-Coconut Daquiri!*

 

Ingredients 2 1/2 cups  chopped fresh or frozen (not thawed) strawberries, (about 12 ounces) 3 tablespoons  sugar 2 tablespoons  lime juice 3 cups  ice cubes 3/4 cup  coconut-flavored rum, such as Malibu

Directions 1. Combine strawberries, sugar and lime juice together in a blender. Blend until smooth. Add ice cubes and rum and blend until frothy. Transfer mixture to a pitcher and serve.

Nutrition Facts Calories 112 (3/4 cup), Sodium 3 mg, Carbohydrate 12 g, Fiber 1 g, Potassium 113 mg. Daily Values: Vitamin C 70%. Exchanges: Fruit 0.5,Other Carbohydrate 0.5.

Summertime is here and we cannot ignore it. Temperatures are rising each day all over the country. What can we do?

The hula hoop craze is back and being used for unique exercises by various well-known workout gurus. Daily News posted an article recently that the hula hoop is coming back because, “it’s a great way to work out and burn a lot of calories, tone all the muscles in the body, while having so much fun that you don’t even know you’re working out… It’s a reminder of your childhood days.”*
